Elimelech Walee Vang, 65, of Winona and Mondovi, died unexpectedly, Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire.
Elimelech was born on March 13, 1955 in Khammouane Province, Laos to KaPao Vang and Lia Xiong. He served with the United States during the Vietnam War. He married Naomi Yang on April 4, 1979. In 1980, the couple immigrated to the United States.
Elimelech worked as a teacher in Holmen, WI, was an aircraft mechanic for Nordam in Tulsa, OK and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Ministry.
In 2017, Elimelech retired and started a little family farm. His favorite pastime was gardening and raising small farm animals.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Vang; daughters, Janny (Fuji) Vue, Nary Vang and Pang (Kendric) Carter; sons, Benjamin, Abel, Peter and Elijah Vang; brothers, Shong Cheng, Danny, Chong Bee and Johnny; and a sister, Amy Thao.
Elimelech was preceded in death by his parents.
Those wishing to pay their respects, may do so from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center. Elimelech's family will not be present during this time. Due to the current restrictions, once you have paid your respects, you will be asked to return to your vehicle. A private family service and burial will follow. Masks are required and social distancing protocols will be followed.
