Elfrieda A. Greethurst

HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, RUSHFORD 507-864-7771 RUSHFORD, MINN. - Elfrieda A. Greethurst, 95, of Rushford, died on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Elfrieda was born on September 24, 1918, in Hart Township of Winona County, Minn. to John and Helena (Erdmann) Boehmke. She was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hart. On June 7, 1939, she was united in marriage with Wayne Greethurst. Elfrieda and Wayne farmed in the Fremont area for many years before moving to Rushford in 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Greethurst of Germantown, Wis.; son, Kenneth (Linda) Greethurst of Urbandale, Iowa; grandchildren: Kevin Greethurst, Julie Pogantsch and Jenny Pogantsch; and by three great-grandchildren. Elfrieda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; brothers: Edward, Elmer, Clarence, Martin and Delmar; and a sister, Esther Morse There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, at St. John Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. with the Rev. Harold Hintzman officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Hart. Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements. The family prefers memorials directed to St. John Lutheran Church or to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
