Eleanor Steinfeldt, age 88 of Ridgeway, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab in Houston. She was born on March 31, 1925 to Fred and Minnie Unnasch in Houston County. She married Edward Steinfeldt on November 22, 1941. They farmed near Ridgway all their lives.Eleanor was a housewife and helped with all the farm work. She and her husband enjoyed dancing at the Witoka Hall. She was also active in the ladies aid of Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. She loved to embroider dish towels. She also loved when her great-grandchildren would come to the farm to visit. Eleanor enjoyed rides on the Gator with her husband and taking her grandchildren on rides as well.She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Lyle) Fritz of Winona and their children, Lisa (Mark) Johnson of Monticello & Mark (Christie) Fritz of Ranchester, Wyoming; son, Robert Steinfeldt of Winona and his children, Shannon (Heath) Dienger & Kari (James) Remlinger of Winona; son, Fred Steinfeldt of Winona and his children, Bridget (Richard "Butch") Bauer, Brandy Steinfeldt, Mike (Michele) Steinfeldt, all of Winona; great-grandchildren, Halle & Macy Remlinger, Samantha Jo, Ricky, Kolby & Karlie Bauer, Abigail Julia, Lauren & Haylee Steinfeldt, Jaren Fritz, Brody Weinmann and Emilyn Dienger; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Unnasch of Houston and Mardell Unnasch of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews.Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; sisters, Harriett Papenfuss, Dorothy Kinstler, Bernice Johnson, Marion Paulson, Mildred Erdmann & Geraldine Steinfeldt; brothers, Alfred & Arden Unnasch.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 23 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway with the Reverend Anthony Straseske officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Pickwick Cemetery.
