Eleanor Dammen

RUSHFORD, MINN. - Eleanor Dammen, 85 of Rushford died on Monday, October 15, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Eleanor was born on March 23, 1922, south of Rushford to Adolph and Marie (Overland) Humble. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Rushford High School. She married Donald Dammen in 1943. She and Donald used to operate a root beer stand in Rushford. Eleanor also worked at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home. Eleanor's interests included gardening, painting, drawing, walks, coffee and picnics with her friends and tea parties with her granddaughters. Eleanor was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Michael (Alice) Dammen of Rushford; three grandchildren: Jon, Anne and Beth; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd Humble of Rushford. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Minerva Heiden. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home or to Rushford Lutheran Church.
