Elaine J. Graves

Elaine J. Graves, 82, died Friday, September 22, 2006, at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona, MN. Elaine was born June 3, 1924 in Winona, MN to John and Emma (Anderson) Tenborg. Elaine married Henry Fegre on June 28, 1941. Elaine worked in the shipyards during WWII painting ships. Henry preceded her in death on December 29, 1969. Elaine married Roland Graves on June 3, 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1974. Elaine was a seamstress for Furs by Francis for many years. She also did cleaning, wallpapering and painting during her working career. Elaine is remembered for her love of crafting, sewing, cutting wedding cakes, traveling and volunteering with the Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Red Cross Disaster Team. Elaine was a member of the Winona Eagles Auxiliary and a life time member of the Pocahontas in the Redmen Club.Survivors include her three daughters, Dixie (Richard) Johnson of Trempealeau, WI, Becky (Mike) Maloney of Rochester, MN and Joni (Steve) Langowski of Winona, MN; four step-children; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Doris Fegre of Winona, MN; aunt, Genevieve Erickson of Winona, MN; and many special card playing friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Tribute Center in Goodview with the Reverend Michelle Rem officiating. Interment will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery in Rushford, MN. Friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 5-8:00pm where there will be an Eagles Auxiliary prayer service at 7:30pm.
