Elaine Florence Selke, 80 of Elba, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born September 1, 1931 in Elba Valley at the Monarch House to Alois and Mabel (Stoning) Majerus. Elaine and her family lived in the Monarch House until Elaine started school. She was very proud to be a part of its heritage. She attended Plainview High School and married Bernard Ellringer in 1949. They were later divorced. In 1972 she married Dale Selke. He preceded her in death in 2003. Elaine worked for many years at Camera Art in Lewiston and was a very dedicated member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba.Elaine loved watching softball games on the field behind her house. She was an avid reader and enjoyed flowers, birds and was a very devoted caretaker of the church.She is survived by six children, Lynda (Wayne) Kroening of St. Charles, Marilyn (Jim Biers) Ellringer of Rochester, Pat (Patty) Ellringer of St. Charles, Dale Ellringer of Chester, Gina (Rick) Jones of Dover and Tim Selke of St. Charles; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeannie (Everett) Hill of Altura and Sharron (Donald) Dick of Wabasha; and many nieces and nephews.Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; son, Michael; two brothers and one sister.Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 23 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
