Elaine D. Maloney

Elaine D. Maloney, 88, died, Monday, August 13, 2012, at Saint Anne Extended Health Care Center in Winona, MN. Elaine was born October 26, 1923, in Winona, MN, to Earl and Mae (Shaughnessy) Witt. She married D. Patrick Maloney on February 10, 1945, in Winona, MN. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1962. Along with being a homemaker Elaine worked as a cook at Saint Anne's, WSU, and St. Mary's University. She was also a longtime foster mother to several babies for catholic charities here in Winona. In her retirement Elaine worked with Lee Ann Estate Sales and enjoyed meeting and visiting with many people. Elaine was an active member of Cathedral of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winona who enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading. Survivors include her two sons, Michael (Becky) Maloney of Rochester, MN, and Dennis (Mary) Maloney of Winona, MN; foster son, Ben Hoffman of Rochester, MN; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Kassy Sagen of Winona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pat, son, Timothy, grandson, Sean Maloney and sister, Alice Maxham.
