Eileen Ruth Walters, 77, of rural Dover died Thursday May 17, 2007 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Eileen was born July 30, 1929 in Trout Valley, MN to Clarence and Ina (Kingsley) Smith. She moved with her family to Cromwell, MN in 1940, where Eileen attended high school. Eileen moved back to the Dover area to work for a sister and a cousin. Here she met and fell in love with Glenn C. Walters. They married on September 4, 1948 in Cromwell. Eileen and Glenn settled on his family home farm, north of Dover, where they raised their four children. Eileen loved the farm and continued to live there the rest of her life. Eileen was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Survivors include her loving husband Glenn, four children and their spouses; Randy (Betty) Walters of Hoffman, MN, Debra Schulz of Elba, Jeffrey (Brenda) Walters of Pueblo West, Co and Brad (Sue) Walters of Albert Lea, 15 grandchildren; Ryan, Jason, Brandy, Kimberly, Jordan, Cameron, Katie (Brian), Erik, Bruce, Aimee, Justin, Matt, Whitney, Amanda and Makayla, a great-granddaughter Sarah, brothers and sisters; Margie (George) Ihrke of Dover, Lorrie Kisler of Elk River, MN, Garald (Helen) Smith of Bayport, MN, Erwin Smith and Clarence, Jr. (Ruth) Smith of Cromwell and her twin brother Eugene (Pat) Smith of Cloquet. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Hazel Line, Gerry Kirkinen and Dora Heaser, a brother Donald Smith and a daughter-in-law Deborah Walters. Funeral Services will be 2PM Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Reverend Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Dover. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's, St. Charles Chapel. They may also call one hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
