Utica, Eileen Catherine Hirschey, 87, of Sauer Memorial Home in Winona and formerly of Utica died Wednesday August 24, 2005 at the home. Eileen was born July 8, 1918 in Pratt, MN to Walter and Deana Clemmensen. She graduated from Clarissa, MN High School in 1936 and attended Minneapolis Business College. She later worked at Glacier National Park before returning to Winona to work for Ben Miller. She and Russell Hirschey were married on July 28, 1945 in Winona. In 1949 they built and operated Utica Oil Company. In 1950 they purchased the Little Acorn Restaurant in Utica. The couple retired and moved to Miami, Florida in 1966. In Florida Eileen worked for Jack's Drug Store in North Miami and for Farr Jewelry. The couple moved to Winona in 1984. Russell died August 15, 2000. Eileen and Russell enjoyed life and loved to Socialize. Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Helen) Hirschey of Winona and Mark (June) Hirschey of Idaho Falls, ID, four grandchildren and a sister Ione (Leonard) Sullivan of Waxahachie, TX. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Saturday at Hoff Funeral Home's- St. Charles Chapel with Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Utica.
