Edward Kreidermacher

After 79 years on this earth, Edward John Kreidermacher, has journeyed to his final home. His life’s work done, Edward died peacefully on December 12, 2024, at his home. He entered this world on January 23, 1945, in Altura, MN, born to John and Dorothy (Siebenaler) Kreidermacher. After graduating from Winona High School in 1963 he took mechanics classes at the Winona Vocational Technical College and worked as a mechanic before marrying and buying a farm outside Altura. Edward was always a revolutionary entrepreneur, trying new things like raising heifers before it was popular and eventually raising hogs on the farm. He was active in the Holy Trinity/Immaculate Conception parishes all his life and the Winona County Pork Producers & Altura Lions Club for many years. Edward enjoyed watching westerns in his free time, working with the animals, talking with Pork & Plants customers, as well as teaching his kids/grandkids how to farm and fix everything. 

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Bissen); his children, Maria Kreidermacher, Heather (Jim) Hawkins, Eric (Ann) Kreidermacher, Paul (Jing) Kreidermacher; grandchildren, Michaela, Amanda, Dominic, Morgan, Gabrielle, Nicole, Daniel, Ella, Caleb, Kayla and Emily; siblings, Alex “Bing”, Theresa Elliott, John “Jack”, June (Guy) Hartung, Tom; brother-in-law Fred Halfman; sister-in-law Jeanne Kreidermacher. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Frank; sister, Judy; brother-in-law, John, sisters-in-law, Jenean and Judy; and nephew, Perry. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, with Reverend Chinnappa Pothireddy officiating. A visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, at Hoff Funeral Home, Saint Charles and 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
