Edmund Victor Bartz

Altura, Edmund "Eddie" Victor Bartz, 85, of Altura, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at his home. Eddie was born November 15, 1922 in Mount Vernon Township, Winona County to Albert H. and Martha (Ledebuhr) Bartz. He served in the Navy during WWII as a gunners mate 1st Class in the South Pacific. Following the war Eddie returned to the family Century Farm, farmed by his family since 1881, where he farmed his entire life.Eddie was a member of Our Savior's Moravian Church in Altura and the St. Charles American Legion Post #190.He is survived by a sister, Adeline Fontaine, of Hemet, CA and several cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at Our Savior's Moravian Church in Altura with The Reverend David Sobek officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Moravian Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors conducted by the St. Charles American Legion.
