Earl Matthew Drussell, 83 of Winona died Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home.
Earl was born September 20, 1933 in Winona to Walter and Helen (Kouba) Drussell. At the age of 15, he quit school and began working at Bunke's ApCo East. Following his father's death, he and his brother, Eugene, took over the family business, Drussell Well Drilling, established in 1894. Earl & Gene became the third generation in the family business. Following Eugene's death in 2000, Earl went into partnership with Eugene's son, Dave. The family business is now into its 5 generation with the addition of Dave's son, Brice. Earl was still active in the business at the time of his death.
On December 19, 1975, Earl married Marion Kangel at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and they enjoyed many wonderful years together.
Earl enjoyed deer, duck and pheasant hunting and fishing in his earlier years. He loved tinkering and mechanics and would often take apart an engine, just to clean it and put it back together again. Earl owned many Jeeps throughout his life and enjoyed going to auctions and online auctions, even if he didn't need anything. Sunday's spent on the river and visiting with friends and family were some of his favorite times. He was a faithful member of St. John's Nepomucene Church.
Earl and Marion had many dogs, especially Chesapeake Bay Retrievers throughout their life, including Shadow, who was Earl's favorite.
Earl is survived by his wife, Marion of 41 years; sister-in-law, Irene (Cletus) Schroeder, brother-in-law, Wally Madland; nieces and nephews, Dave Drussell, Dan Ziebell, Allan (Brenda) Ziebell and Annette (Roger) Ziebell; great nieces and nephews, Brice, Reese, Luke, Joey, Nick, Emily, Amanda, Andrew, Avery & Audrey.
