RUSHFORD, MN - E. Lorraine Fann, 98, of Rushford, MN died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab in Houston, MN.
Lorraine was born on November 23, 1919, in Highland MN to Carl and Alice (Thompson) Dammen. She attended country school and was a graduate of Lanesboro High School. Lorraine worked as a waitress in her younger years. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Lieutenant JG where she served as a nurse. While in the Navy, Lorraine met Carl Fann. Lorraine and Carl were united in marriage on October 17, 1946. They moved to Olathe, KS until 1961, when they moved to Rushford. Lorraine worked as the director of nursing at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She was a life member of Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, MN and was a member of the Rushford American Legion. Lorraine was a wonderful lady with a kind Norwegian spirit.
She is survived by two children: Gary Fann of Rushford and Carol Fogal of Lenora, MN; five grandchildren: Jason (Amy), Jaime (Mike), Sarah Ann, John and Amanda; and three great-grandchildren: Makenzie, Miley and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and six siblings.
There will be a funeral service for Lorraine at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018, at Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, MN with The Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church on Friday.
