Doyle Richard Hanson, 60 of Dodge, WI died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse surrounded by his family.Doyle was born October 25, 1950 in Arcadia, WI to Richard and Margaret (Skripietz) Hanson. After graduating from Cotter High School he was drafted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany from 1968-1970. After he was discharged he attended Southeast Technical College in Winona where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Army Corp of Engineers for 20 years and was part of the clean-up effort after Hurricane Katrina. Doyle enjoyed motorcycles, traveling and drinking beer. He also enjoyed collecting cars and was very proud of the fact that he was able to put together the entire collection of Ford Fairlane Retractables, which were only made from 1957 - 1959. Doyle was always "supervising;" he had a way of asking people to help him with a task so that they could not say no, and then he would go sit down and "supervise." He was very compassionate about people in general and especially children and education. Doyle was currently living in San Louis De La Paz, Mexico where he sponsored a high school student and paid for her tuition to attend school.He is survived by his parents, Dick and Marge of Goodview; children, Brian Hanson of Winona, Andrea Hanson (Scott Poser) of Winona, Jordan Seiler of Arcadia, WI and Serena Hanson of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Kane Hanson, Faith Bone and Marriana Seiler; brother, Don Hanson of Winona and a sister, Beverly Voigt of Michigan.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service ~ Hansen Goodview Chapel, followed by a Time of Sharing at 7 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
