Douglas F. Reps, age 90, of Lewiston, died Monday, November 21 in Rochester, MN.
Doug was born September 22, 1926 in Fremont, MN to Paul Reps Sr. and Barbara (Denzer) Reps. Doug graduated from Lewiston High School. He was very active in his baseball career. He was drafted into the army during WWII. After the war Doug married Darlene "Tootie" Boynton and had 9 children. Doug spent the majority of his working career with Warner & Swasey and then with Whitewater State Park in his later working years working with the grounds crew. He was a terrific gardener and loved to help others with their gardens and lawns. He also loved sports; the Twins and Vikings were his favorites to watch. Doug and Darlene often went to games together. They also loved to fish and would go dancing at the Wyattville Hall.
Doug is survived by his children, Debra (Dennis) Kukowski, Kevin "Buzz" Reps, Kathy (Dennis) Lafky, Renee (Mark) Potter, Gene (Peggy) Reps, Greg (Tammy) Reps; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Fern Kieffer, Richard Reps. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; sons, Darold "Pete" Reps, Gerald Reps; daughter, Sharla Warnken.
A funeral will be held 11 AM Friday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Services, St. Charles with a visitation 1 hour prior. Interment Lewiston Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the family.
