Dorothy T. Urness

Dorothy T. Urness, 89, died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born December 31, 1915 in Winona, MN to Albert and Angeline (Plucinick) Stroniski. She married Everett Urness on September 17, 1946 in Winona, MN. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1975. Dorothy owned and operated the Urness Produce and Grocery Store in Winona. She is lovingly remembered for her great sense of humor and ability to tell a good joke or story. Dorothy loved to play cards and was an extremely active person. She had given up riding her bicycle only three years ago. Dorothy was a member of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Survivors include her nephew, Jim (Judie) Brown of Rice Lake, WI; niece, Joyce Christensen or Rochester, MN; several great nieces and nephew; and several great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, brother, Harry and sister, Gertrude.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 1:00pm at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. John Sauer officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Burke Winona Chapel on Wednesday from 5-8:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 7:00pm and a time of sharing immediately following.
