Dorothy Nelson

St. Charles, MNDorothy L. Nelson, 97, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the St. Charles Assisted Living in St. Charles, MN. Dorothy was born March 4, 1907 in Dover Township, MN to Arthur and Leafy (Henry) Krause. On November 28, 1925 she married Harold Nelson in Rochester, MN. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2004. Dorothy worked for Woolworth in Rochester for many years. She was member of the Dover United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star in St. Charles. Dorothy's special interests included sewing and playing cards. Dorothy and Harold wintered in Texas for 21 years and had been residents of Assisted Living in St. Charles for the past six months. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Tony) Burgdorf of Dover, MN; two grandchildren, Cindy (Larry) Whitcomb of Eyota, MN and Curt (Connie) Burgdorf of Alvord, TX; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, two sisters, Violet and Mildred and a brother, Glenn. Funeral services are planned for Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral Homes ? St. Charles Chapel with Reverend Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Dover, MN. Friends may call on Friday from 5-7pm and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
