St. Charles,Dorothy Neoma Kurth, 81, of St. Charles, died Friday, January 13, 2006 surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Dorothy had been a resident of Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles for the past year.Dorothy Neoma Risinger was born June 10, 1924 in Winona County, rural St. Charles to Charles and Laura (Stevens) Risinger. She attended St. Charles public schools through the 10th grade before moving to Chicago with her parents in 1940. In 1942 she married Marvin Kurth. They returned to the St. Charles area in 1947. She worked at Home Produce in St. Charles and Camera Art in Lewiston for many years. What she loved most was to care for others which included babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She was a caregiver for her son Melvin until his death. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and pets, and visiting with friends and family. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles.She is survived by three sons Lyman (Susie) of Utica, Ron (Sue) of St. Charles, and Roger (Cathy) of St. Charles, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 2003, one son, Melvin and two brothers, Mike and Don.Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 3-7 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel.
