Dorothy M. Flynn, 89, of Winona, MN died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN. Dorothy was born on August 17, 1917 to Joseph and Mary (Hillsinger) Stoltz in Glidden WI. When Dorothy was little, she used to dance the Charleston for nickels at her Dad's store. She graduated from Glidden High School and worked at her Dad's department store. On December 31, 1938, Dorothy married Clifford John Flynn in Davenport, IA. They lived in Eau Claire, WI for a short time and moved to Madison, WI. From 1946 to 1960 Dorothy and her family moved to Chicago, IL where she worked as an information operator for Illinois Bell. From 1960 to 1976 they then moved to Kansas City, MO, where they spent the latter five years traveling. From 1976 to 1997 they lived in Marshfield, WI and then moved to Winona, MN. Clifford died March 15, 2001. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona and was a member of the Wisconsin Women's Bowling Association and the Women's Indoor Bowls Council. Dorothy loved to bowl, was an excellent cookie maker, enjoyed needle point, crosswords, puzzles, and reading. Her family was very important to her and she will be dearly missed. Dorothy is survived by her son Gary (Catherine Cleary) Flynn of Winona, MN; three grandchildren, Christine Bellock of Winona, MN, Michael Flynn of Minnesota City, MN, and Timothy (Maureen) Flynn of Winona, MN; and four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Lucas Bellock and Andrew and Nathan Denzer. Her husband, two brothers, and two sisters precede her in death. Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Monday, June 25, 2007 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Chapel. Sharing Time will be at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona, MN on Tuesday, June 26.
