Lewiston, Dorothy F. (McNamara) Krenz, 72, of Lewiston died peacefully at her home on Wednesday June 15, 2005. Dorothy was born November 4, 1932 in Hetland, South Dakota to Carl and Helen (McCall) McNamara. She graduated from Lake Preston, South Dakota High School in 1950. She then attended the Presentation College School of Nursing, graduating in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. She worked in hospitals and clinics in South Dakota before moving to Lewiston in 1968. After moving to Lewiston she worked as a bookkeeper for the Lewiston Midland Co-op and as a secretary/ bookkeeper for Drs. Clark and Flynn. Dorothy retired in December of 1995 after working 8 years at the Lewiston Villa, the last three years as assistant Director of Nursing. Dorothy has been a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church since moving to Lewiston. Her church was very important to her as her faith helped her through some difficult surgeries. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Merlyn, three children, David (Eileen) of LaCrescent, Kathryn (Loren) Dannen of Lewiston and Stephen (Valerie) of Tulsa, OK, six grandchildren; Christopher (Krista), Michael, Brian, Kristy, Tim and Jenny, three sisters, Janice (Larry) Kazmerzak of Red Oak, IA, Judy Conway of Richfield and Mary (Jerry) Wipf of Ft. Meyers, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Kelly Elizabeth and a brother William McNamara. There will be a Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Rev. James Hennessy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's - Lewiston Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Lunch will be served in the church hall following the service. Dorothy was a kind and gentle person who took great pride in her children and their families, who she loved deeply. Merlyn and Dorothy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2004, as they were surrounded by family and friends who cared deeply for them.
