Dorothy I. Brown, 86, died, Friday, August 24, 2012, at St. Anne Extended Health Care in Winona, MN. Dorothy was born May 21, 1926, in Richland Center, WI, daughter of Edward and Myrtle (Hansen) Rohn, one of 5 siblings. She attended school in Lone Rock, WI, and graduated in 1944. She met the love of her life, Roy Brown, while working at an ammunition factory after high school, during WWII. They were united in marriage on March 18, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. They were blessed with 3 daughters, Donna, Rohnda and Betsy. Dorothy was a public servant most of her career, first as an Assistant County Treasurer, then assuming the County Treasurer position for many years. She retired at the "early" age 70 to care for Roy. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2001. Dorothy was a beautiful seamstress, and enjoyed gardening, golf and travel. The greatest love in her life was spending time with her family, especially loving her 3 grandsons. Even though Mom lost her vision, she never lost sight of the most important things in her life, her love of God and her family. Also preceding her in death is her 2 brothers, Willard and Lyle, and sister, Marie. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rohnda (Gary) Hanan of LaCrosse, WI, and Betsy (Randy) Byom of Winona, MN; and her three beloved grandsons, Glenn of Milwaukee, WI, and Alex and Brady of Winona; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Anne Extended Health Care for their wonderful care during Mom's last 6 months on this earth.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 1st, at 11:00am, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Richland Center, WI.
