Dorothy Edna Henry, 83, of St. Charles died Tuesday morning April 17th at Season's Hospice in Rochester. Dorothy was born August 24, 1923 in Utica Township of Winona County to George and Adella (Rupprecht) Roth. She and James V. Henry, Sr. were married September 26, 1942 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston. They farmed in Fremont Township for a short time on the Henry family farm, later farming on the Stupy farm near Utica for five years. In 1949 they moved north of St. Charles to farm. Jim died September 15, 1980. Dorothy worked for 35 years in Lewiston at Camera Art, which later became Herff-Jones in the receiving and shipping department. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles and was active in the Ladies Aid. She had also been a 4-H leader for 18 years. Dorothy loved the farm and all that it involved, especially canning, baking and cooking. In later years she enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Canada. Survivors include eight children, David Henry, James Henry, Jr., Roger (Fran) Henry all of St. Charles, Dorothy "Dottie" (Dan) Michaelis of Winona, Susan "Sue" (Dennis) Burdick of Rochester, Edie (Steve) Brown of Rochester, Marlene "Minnie" (Randy) Ward of St. Charles and Edna (David) Boyum of Tomah, WI, 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four sisters; Evelyn (Leslie) Hilke of Altura, Irene Antonson of Utica, Bernice (Ross) Cone of Denver, CO and Adeline (Mike) Matson of Rochester. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a grandson Doug Henry.
