HOUSTON, MINN. - Dorothy A. Wilson, 89, of Houston died on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis. Dorothy was born on April 23, 1917, in Mound Prairie Township of Houston County, Minn. to Adolph and Emma (Lemke) Haupt. She was raised at South Ridge. On November 16, 1935, she married Ansil Wilson at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in rural LaCrescent, Minn. where she was also baptized on June 3, 1917, and confirmed on August 24, 1930. Dorothy farmed for many years with her husband in the Houston area. She worked at Lake Center Industries in Rushford. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. Her interests included quilting, gardening, and canning. She was also an active quilter for the Lutheran World Relief. Dorothy was recently voted as Valentines Queen at Valley View Nursing Home this past February. She is survived by two sisters-in-law: Violet (Harley) Goede, and Elrey Wilson both of Houston; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ansil on September 23, 1988; five sisters, and three brothers. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be in the Stone Church Cemetery in Houston. Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday.
