St. Charles, Dorothy A. Holzer, 89, of St. Charles died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Golden Living Center in St. Charles. Dorothy was born July 11, 1921 in St. Charles to Hugo and Delcie (Stevens) Renspie. She lived in the Clyde area until grade school at which time they moved to St. Charles. Dorothy graduated from St. Charles High School. She married Anthony John Holzer June 18, 1938. The couple made their home in St. Charles. Dorothy worked for Libby's of Rochester, Home Produce, then her favorite job, working as a Vet Tech for the St. Charles Vet Clinic. Her husband died in 1968. Dorothy belonged to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She and her long time companion, Russell Brown, enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and following Mel's Polka Stars. Dorothy also enjoyed her garden. Survivors include her five daughters; Diana (Wes) Thompson of Rockton, IL, Lynn (Kip) Morsch of Stanton, OH, Louanne (Jim) Foster of Kellogg, Andrea Holzer of St. Charles and Annette (Scott) Suddendorf of Byron, one sister, Virginia (Bill) McClary of Austin, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister, a granddaughter-in-law, two great-grandchildren and Russ Brown her companion of 28 years. Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles with Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
