HOUSTON, MINN. - Dorothe E. Sanders, 80, of Houston, died on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at her home in rural Houston. She was born on July 8, 1927, in Belgrade, Minn. Dorothe was raised in Belgrade. In 1947 she married James Sanders in Belgrade. After their marriage Dorothe and James lived in Taylors Falls, Minn. for one year. They then moved to Colombia Heights, Minn., where they lived until 1986, when they retired to a farm in rural Houston. Dorothe was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston and the church circle there. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, and playing games. Dorothe is survived by three sons: Gary (Pat) Sanders of Genoa, Wis., Robert Sanders of Houston, and Douglas (Dayna) Sanders of Canton, Minn.; one daughter: Debra (John) Horbal of Fridley, Minn.; one granddaughter, Carrie Lynn (Ben) Sanders Getz, and her children: Taedon, Kenyon, and Kiana; two step-grandsons: Nick Maas and his son, Dakota, and Chad(Jenny) Maas and his two daughters, Amanda and Stephanie; and by one brother, Walter Ladwig of Columbia Heights, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, and one sister. There will be a memorial service for Dorothe at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery in rural Houston. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church on Friday.
