Doris Marilyn Feine, 78, of St. Charles, died, surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, October 1, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.Doris was born at home in Rushford on June 4, 1933 to Edward and Josephine (Woxland) Peterson. After graduating from Rushford High School in 1951, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Feine on August 25, 1951. When they moved to St. Charles in 1965, Doris and Ken became members at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. For over 30 years, Doris worked as a supervisor in the touch-up department of Camera Art in Lewiston. Doris and Ken enjoyed collecting antiques at garage and estate sales. They traveled to many states and loved wintering in Arizona. She was devoted to her family and supported her grandchildren's many events, which were always written on the calendar. Her famous sponge cookies will always be remembered. She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Kenneth Feine; children, Gary (Kate) Feine of Preston, Sherry (Dave) Thompson of Stewartville, Mark (Dianne) Feine of St. Marys, GA, and Tami (Norm) Doty of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren, Lucas Feine, Caleb (Tara) Feine, Josh Thompson, Zachary Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Amanda Thompson, Molly (Greg) Waugh, Abby Feine, Mackenzie Doty, Hannah Doty, Allie Doty; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew Feine, Tyler Feine, Lauren Raymond; sisters, Jane (Pete) Quamen, Connie (Gary) Boyum; brother, Dennis (Ruth) Peterson; sisters-in-law, Delaine Kjos and Irene (Merlin) Doblar; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Eleanor Feine; father-in-law, Willard Feine; and brother-in-law, Carroll Kjos.A visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles and also one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral service will be at 11am on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in St. Charles with Reverend Larry La Dassor officiating. Interment will be in the Brand Cemetery in Hart.The family prefers memorials to be designated to Good Shepherd Lutheran Services in Rushford or Winona Area Hospice.
