Donna Kieffer

Donna Darlene Kieffer, 72, of St. Charles, died Friday, March 24, 2023 at Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles.  Donna was born September 19, 1950 in Rochester to Verlen and Dorothy (Meyers) Sanford. She was raised on the family farm near Oronoco, attending country school through 8^th grade, graduating from John Marshall High School in 1968.   Donna attended Rochester Junior College for a year. She began teaching piano lessons at 16, teaching at Schmidt Music and later private lessons in her home.  In addition to piano lessons, Donna worked at Appliance Village and Sears.  She and Louie Kieffer were married on October 22, 1980, and made their home in rural Utica. Donna and Louie moved to St. Charles in 2001.  Louie died in 2012.

Donna was kind, yet independent. She stood for what she thought was right.

Survivors include a son, Adam of St. Charles, three stepdaughters, Vicki (Dale) Gathje, Chris (Keith) Miller, both of St. Charles, and Sue Kieffer of Rochester, Grandchildren, Noelle and Boden, Kaitlyn, Erica, Aaron, Phillip, and Tyler, several great-grandchildren, and a sister, Darla (Kent) Grover of Winona. In addition to her husband, Louie, Donna was preceded in death by three siblings, Dale, Sanford, Jean Sandford and Sharon Sanford.

Services for Donna will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29^th, at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles, with the Reverend Tim Biren officiating.  She will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
