Donna Jean Hove, age 72, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer.Donna was born September 21, 1937 to Floyd and Alberta (Posey) Anderson in Dodge Center, MN. Shortly after her birth her family moved to a farm in Rochester, and then moved to a farm in the Dover area. Donna graduated from St. Charles High School in 1955. She married Jordan Hove on August 3, 1957. They had three daughters. Donna worked for IBM as a telephone operator and St. Charles Home Produce for 8 years sorting eggs. She later worked for Camera Art/Herff Jones in Lewiston for 28 years and retired in 1992.Donna was a longtime member of Dover United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Ladies Aid. Donna was active in the St. Charles Senior Citizens organization. She loved making her famous potato salad for church socials, weddings and other special occasions. Donna loved spending time with family and friends, telling jokes and making people laugh. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, getting dressed up for Halloween and riding motorcycle. Donna and Jordan were long time members of the Thunderbolts Motorcycle Club and served as President and Vice President. The club enjoyed fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House and has since disbursed. Donna is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jordan, of Dover; three daughters, Deb (Greg) Johnson of Racine, WI, Renee (Phil) Putzier of Dover, MN, and Gay (Tony) Hove-Moen of Racine, MN; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Kassie Putzier; mother, Alberta Anderson of Dover; and one brother, Jerry (Karen) Anderson of Dover.Donna is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Anderson; one brother, Albert Anderson; and her parents-in-law, Julius and Esther Hove.Her family wishes to thank Seasons Hospice, Mayo Clinic Teams and Pastor Heather E. Klason for their compassionate care and support.The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28 at Dover United Methodist Church with the Reverend Heather E. Klason officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home - St. Charles Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Dover, MN. Memorials are suggested to Seasons Hospice.
