Donald P. Bautch, 78, of Winona, formally of Arcadia, WI., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Lake Winona Manor with his wife, Janet, by his side. He was born May 10, 1937 to Alex and Mary (Puchalla) Bautch. At 16, his father died and his mother remarried Bernard Kolstad who became a father figure.
On July 5, 2003, Donald married Janet (Peterson) and in 2007 they moved to Winona. Over the years, Donald worked a handful of jobs as a supervisor and foreman, but his biggest joy was hunting and fishing--trout fishing especially. Donald served in the Navy and was a member of the American Legion.
Donald is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Kim Suchla of Arcadia, Laurie (Jim Pienttok) Bautch of Vail, AZ., Don (Jeannette) Bautch of Mindoro, and Daniel Bautch of Melrose; step-children, Chace Kingsley of Rushford and Chellie (David) Shaffer of Yorba Linda, Cali.; grandchildren, Michelle (Jon) Beers, Erika, Alayna, and Benjamin Suchla, Dorian and Calysta Bautch, Dalton Kingsley, and Cole and Sydney Shaffer; great-grandchildren, Aidric Beers and one on the way in June; siblings, Shirley Woychik-Brown, James Bautch, Junetth Lettner, Sandra (Rodger) Moe, Gary (Dr. Raja) Bautch, and Bonita (Jim) Greeson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father; two siblings, Sharon and Jerome; and an infant son.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 223 Maple St., Arcadia, WI, with the Reverend Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Full Military Honors will follow. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Arcadia, WI. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
