Donald Meyer, 81, died peacefully at his home, with his family by his side on March 26, 2024.
Donald is survived by his wife Eleanor Meyer, his two daughters, Tamera Ringhand and Lynn Olson, his sons Jonathan, James, Matthew and Chris Meyer, his sister Karen Moga and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Donald was born on 8 March 1943, to Paul and Jennifer Meyer, one of 5 children, and was raised on a small farm in Wykoff, MN. He married his loving wife Ellie on 13 February 1965, and in 59 years, they shared a lifetime together dedicated to each other and caring for his children and grandchildren. Donald's love for his family, his pride in his farm, his joy in hunting with all that were welcome, and of course a good joke and laugh will always be remembered.
He was a carpenter by trade, but to know him, he was truly a bridge builder. His other passion, besides his family, was his farm which was made possible by the love and assistance with his wife and children by his side. Donald had a personality, heart, and sense of humor that filled every and any space. He will be truly missed, yet always remembered.
In his own words that we all cherished, Donald Meyer was "Sweet, kind, debonaire, generous, suave, sophisticated, humble, unassuming... besides, good looking, too!!"
A funeral service for Donald will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, MN, at 10:30am, with Rev. Dana Jackson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
