Donald Jerome Fix, formerly from Minneapolis, passed away at Hospice of Citrus County, Florida, on Oct. 3, 2016, with his mate of 13 years, Mary Friedrich, at his side.
Donald was born July 1, 1938, to Donald and Florinda Fix. He married Maxine Barr in 1959. Together they raised four children.
He worked in construction, as an auto mechanic, and 25 years as an over-the-road truck driver.
Donald and Mary moved to Beverly Hills, Fla., in 2005. He retired and pursued his love of classic cars. Don joined the Citrus County Cruisers and enjoyed working on his cars and going to car shows with the many good friends he made there.
Donald was preceded in death by wife, Maxine (1992), daughter, Michelle (1982), sister, Rosalyn Lehnertz (2015), sister, Joan Olson (1997), and brother, Owen Fix (1974).
He is survived by son, Gregory (Michelle), granddaughter, Melissa; daughter, Leisa (Don), granddaughter, Aleisha, great-grandsons, Joey and Ricky; daughter, Leslie (Dale), grandsons, Robert and Thomas; grandson, Joshua Fix (Iisha); great-granddaughter, Dakota; and great-grandson, Nickolas of Sacramento, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews he was very close to.
Graveside services are May 27, 2017 at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
