Donald Forest Horman Sr., 69, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his home in Chatfield.
Donald was born July 7, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia to Elmer and Bertha (Higgins) Horman.
He graduated from Chosen Valley High School in 1963. He then attended Hamline University before going to the military. On April 9, 1971 he married Virginia Bushman in Eyota. The couple made their home on the family farm south of Chatfield. Donald worked his entire career for the the United States Postal Service in Rochester.
Donald was veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Eyota American Legion, Chatfield VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed gardening, riding 4 wheelers, and spending time with family on the farm.
Donald is lovingly remembered by his wife Virginia and children Tim Cullen of Fairbanks, AK; John (Jessie) Cullen of Chatfield; Chris Cullen of Fairbanks, AK; Jennifer (Curt) Arndt of Chatfield; and D.J. (Jenni) Horman of Eyota; 10 Grandchildren, four great-grandchilren; and one brother, Ronald (Mona) Horman of Cody, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Marjorie Young and Evelyn Mason.
Services for Donald will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield with Pastor Mark Docken officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, June 6th, also at the funeral home. A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at the Hamilton Cemetery in Racine.
