Donald Frisch

Donald N. Frisch, 82, of Minnesota City passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home.

Don was born June 4, 1942, to Cleon and Carolyn (Davidshofer) Frisch. He graduated from Rollingstone Holy Trinity high school in 1960. After high school, he joined the US Marine Corps and honorably served two active duties in Vietnam. In 1968, he married Becky Johnson and they later divorced. On Oct 1, 1977, Don married Mary Ann Hoffman.

Don drove all over the country as a truck driver. He later worked for JF Brennan Construction and retired from there after 15 years. After retirement, he drove tour bus to keep himself busy.

In his earlier years, Don enjoyed helping his brothers on the family farm on Oak Ridge where he grew up. He also enjoyed hunting, boating, going to old car shows, parades, spending time with his grandkids and attending their sports events.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary of 47 years; four children, Sheila (Rick) Carter of Custer, SD, Scott Frisch (Roberta Cattai) of Gangelt, Germany, Martha (Alex) Hernandez of Bloomington, and John (Jackie) Frisch of Winona; grandchildren, Kalvin and Kyle Kowalewski, Ryan, Aiden and Liam Frisch, Vincent and Samantha Frisch, and Edmundo Hernandez.

He is also survived by three sisters, Rita (Bruce) Hartert of Spring Valley, Carol (Norb) Budzinski of Penn Valley, CA, and Toni Ihrke of Golden Valley; and one brother, Bernard Frisch of Winona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Richard; sisters, Mary Paula Sturgis and Marie Nepper; and infant daughter, Michelle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 11am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church (132 Anderson St, Minnesota City, MN) with visitation beginning at 10am. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, 4pm-7pm at Hoff Celebration of Life Center (3480 Service Dr. Goodview, MN).
