Donald Buehler

July 16, 1942 — May 23, 2016

Donald Joseph Buehler, 73, of Winona, passed away peacefully Monday, May 23, 2016 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester. Don was born on July 16, 1942 to John and Clara (Dohrmann) Buehler and was one of ten children. On August 31, 1968 he was united in marriage to Joy (Lundgren). Together they shared 32 years and had three children, Linda, Nancy, and Steven. During those years Don was a member of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and continued to carry his Catholic faith with him throughout his life. He was awarded a master of science degree in sociology and psychology from Winona State College. Don then worked at Winona State as a college recorder, but spent many years of his life as a patient caregiver. Don enjoyed cars, fishing, and golf.
Donald is survived by his children, Linda (Troy) Wondrasch of Shakopee, Nancy Storlie of Prior Lake, and Steven (Marita) Buehler of Rochester; proud grandfather to; Abby, Isabel, Breanna, Mason, Gabriella, Madeline, and Zachary; siblings, Phyllis (Ted) Mitchell of Hillsborough, NJ, Pat (Frank) Gilligan of Bloomington, Marilyn (Mike) McGuire of St. Charles, Shirley (Randy) Gregory of Zumbrota, Janet (Isadore) Loeffelholz of Caledonia, Mary Lou Black of Zumbrota, Sharon (Keith) Harris of Zumbrota, David (Lynn) Buehler of Zumbrota, and Daniel (Julie) Buehler of Altura; his ex-wife Joy Buehler; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service with the recitation of the Rosary at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Margaret's Catholic Cemetery in Mantorville. Memorials preferred to Catholic Charities, Cottagewood Senior Community -Rochester, or the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
