Donald George Bork

Donald George Bork passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025.

He was born to Henry and Clara (Mertes) Bork in Winona, MN, on December 21, 1946. He married Grace Lee on April 18, 1970. Don graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School in 1965 and after graduation he went into the Army and was in Vietnam. He then went to work at Warner and Swasey/Badger Construction and retired from there after 42 years.

He liked to hunt, fish, gardening, being outdoors, and bird watching. He enjoyed sharing his fresh catch and garden produce with family and friends.

Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Grace; children, Christine (Ryan) Podein, and Kevin (Harmony) Bork; grandson, Brandon Bork; brother, David (Irene) Bork; sister, Rita (Don) Fort; and sister-in-law, Rosalie Bork.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; sisters, Phyllis and Jane.

A memorial service will be held for Don at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center (3480 Service Drive, Goodview, MN) with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. A private family burial will be held at Piepers Valley Cemetery at a later date.
