Donald Wayne Zingler, age 92 of St. Charles, died peacefully and surrounded by family at his home on Friday, May 10, 2024.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024. Visitation will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services on Friday.

Military rites will be provided by the St. Charles Legion Post #190 and V.F.W. Post #5036 and burial will take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery. There will be a reception following military rites at the funeral home.

Donald was born on September 8, 1931 the son of Harvey L. and Tillie A. (Rausch) in St. Charles. Donald graduated from St. Charles High School and continued his education in Emporia, KS. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He and Patricia A. Wiskow were united in marriage on August 30, 1958 in Minneapolis.  He worked as a lab technician/truck driver at St. Charles Condensing and in road construction for Patterson Quarry.

Donald is survived by his wife, Patricia, children Brent Zingler of Saint Charles and Dena Zingler of Minnetonka, grandchildren Kearson and Harvey and great-grandchildren Mason, Alivia, Gabriella and Kennedi. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Carol Braun and Elayne Wiskow and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lester and sister Marion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don’s name are appreciated by the family.
