Mantorville, Donald F. Frick, 84, of Mantorville and formerly of St. Charles died Wednesday evening May 5, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Don was born October 10, 1919 in Pickwick to Emil and Louis (Papenfuss) Frick. He and Ruth Mary Gast were married on August 8, 1946 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona. They farmed near Pickwick until moving to Dover to farm in 1956, retiring from farming in 1978. The couple lived at Five Oaks, south of Dover from 1988 until moving to St. Charles in 1993. Ruth died October 9, 1999. Don moved to Mantorville in 2002. Don enjoyed traveling in his RV, fishing, long boat rides, reading and reminiscing. Don and Ruth were active in the Evergreen Cemetery Assn. of Dover. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in St. Charles and served on the Dover Township Board for 35 years. Survivors include a daughter Naomi (Ted) Berland of Goodhue, four nephews Ronald; Roger; Raymond and Richard Frick, a niece Diane Frick, and by good friends Lowell and Kathryn Overson of Mantorville. In addition to his wife Ruth, a daughter Donna Frick, two brothers, Ralph and Robert and his parents preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Dover. Friends may call 4- 8 PM to??
