Don Callahan

St. Charles,Donald Callahan, 72, of St. Charles died Thursday August 4, 2005 at University Good Samaritan Home in Minneapolis.Don was born March 8, 1933 in Harlem, Montana to Robert and Shirley Callahan. He moved with his family to the St. Charles area where he attended High School. Following school he joined the army 82nd Airborne Division. Don married Joyce Grabau, they later divorced. He worked as a loader operator for Mathy Construction until suffering a stroke in 1998. Survivors include a son Dennis Callahan, a daughter Vicki (Robert) Neurer, granddaughter crystal and two great grandchildren all of Grand Rapids, MN, two sisters Betty Virnig and Verna Gaulke both of St. Charles and his step father Carl Fischer of St. Charles. Hew as preceded in death by his parents and a son Bob.A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial of Don's cremated body will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Home's - St. Charles Chapel. Friends may also call one hour before services at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 4:15 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
