Delmar John "Sam" Boehmke, 84 of Rushford, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.Sam was born January 31, 1928 in Hart Township to John and Lena (Erdman) Boehmke. On June 28, 1947 he married Catherine Wamhoff in Hart. In 1952, they moved with their family to California where Sam worked construction. They returned to Rushford in 1986 where Sam continued to work construction until retiring in the early 1990's. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the local Teamster's Union. Sam could often be seen mowing lawns and blowing snow for his neighbors. He was also an avid sports fan; Nascar, Baseball, Football, he loved it all.Sam is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Michael Boehmke, Jennie Boehmke and Billie Jo Boehmke, all of Rushford; grandchildren, Edward Boehmke, Laurie Boehmke and Brandi Schultz; great-grandchildren, Aalijah, Dylan and Wyatt Schultz; sister, Elfreida Greethurst and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce; brothers, Clarence, Elmer, Edward and Martin; and sister, Esther.Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Rushford with the Reverend Merlin Stephan officiating.
