Delaine K. Graves, 79, died Sunday, February 22, 2009, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Delaine was born August 14, 1929, in Rushford, MN, to Eli and Sadie (Haakenson) Glenna. She married Darwin L. Graves on March 12, 1947, and he later preceded her in death on August 3, 1994. Delaine had worked for Bohlen's in Winona, had been a maid for the King family in Winona, worked for Ziebells, and most recently had been a lunchroom supervisor at Madison Elementary School. She retired on June 2, 2008. Delaine was a member of Central Lutheran Church, the Winona Senior Friendship Center, and an active member of the Eagles Club in Winona. Delaine loved to play bingo, enjoyed cooking and baking and lovingly remembered for her daily trips to Midtown Foods.Survivors include her two children, Dave Graves of Winona, MN, and Beverly (Glen) Busitzky of Golden Valley, MN; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce (Mark) Sievert of Kasson, MN, and Vernes Gudmundson of St. Charles, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Darwin, infant son, Jimmy, daughter, Phyllis, son, Earl, brother, Errol, and sisters, Ione, Delores, Lorraine, Helen, and Shirley.Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, at Noon at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with the Reverend Scott E. Olson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 4-7:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service at the Eagles Club in Winona where Delaine helped cook many meals.
