Dean Spaeth, age 57 of Chatfield passed away at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Dean Robert Spaeth was born on November 1, 1967 the son of George and Pearl (nee Hodnett) Spaeth in Stanley, Wisconsin. He attended school in Stanley and began working in construction, building homes in the area. He was a construction foreman in Texas for a time before returning to the Stanley area. He began his own construction company (Spaeth Construction) and greatly enjoyed his work. On October 28, 1989, Dean married his long-time friend and high school sweetheart Shannon McCormick at St. Peter's Church in Boyd, WI. The couple raised four children and remained life-long friends, despite their divorce. Dean lived several places over the years, but made Chatfield his home in 2023. 

Dean was an avid fisherman and hunter and collector of treasures. He loved anything outdoors, camping and riding his golf cart around Chatfield, but his greatest love was his family and the time they spent together. 

Dean will be missed by his children Kristi (Brandon) Bornholdt of St. Charles, Dean (Britney Evjen) of Utica, Kendra (Jerry Bissett) Spaeth of Chatfield, Kelcey (Dalton) Wheeler of Chatfield and their mother Shannon Spaeth of St. Charles and 17 grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings Iris (John) Cance of Arizona, Arlon (Joyce) Spaeth of Madison, Darrell (Kathy) Spaeth of Chippewa Falls, WI, Joy (Ken) Stevens of Thorp, Donna (Dave) Marten of Eau Claire, WI, Scott (Sue) Spaeth of Birchwood, Wi and Kevin (Debbie) Spaeth of Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and granddaughter Renezimae Spaeth-Barth on July 28, 2013.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
