Dayton E. Millard

St. Charles, Dayton E. Millard, 59, of rural St. Charles died Friday morning in the Emergency Room of St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Dayton was born July 20, 1945 in Dover to LeRoy and Vera (Britzius) Millard. He graduated from Dover-Eyota High School in 1963 and served in the Army from 1965-67, stationed in South Carolina. Dayton and Sandi Narveson were married July 2, 1966 in Chatfield. They lived in South Carolina until returning to Minnesota to farm north of Dover. The couple later divorced. He farmed north of Dover his entire life. Dayton enjoyed fishing, playing cards and loved nature. Survivors include two children, Tom, at home; Jenni (Tim) Todd of Dover, two granddaughters, Jocelyn and Kylie and a third grandchild due in May, his mother Vera Millard of Plainview, three brothers, Rowland (Cora) of Rochester; Maynard (Edrie) of Dover and Leonard (Lee Poppin) of St. Charles and a special friend Barb Peck of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at Dover United Methodist Church with Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Little Valley Cemetery in rural Plainview. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel.
