David Mark Wollschlager (34) of Minneapolis and formerly of Lewiston, died March 1, 2021 at his home. David was born on February 10, 1987 to Mark Wollschlager and Anne Sullivan. He graduated with honors from Lewiston-Altura High School in 2005 and went on to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Minnesota. There he received a degree in nutrition and wellness. He was exceptionally savvy with computers and worked in the IT industry for several years. David was brilliant, funny, creative, compassionate, and kind, often inspiring game nights, engaging conversations, and deep connection. He created beautiful gifts with his self-taught woodworking skills and honed his culinary pursuits by lovingly and meticulously cooking for others. He enjoyed adventure and exploration on his motorcycle, traveling and living in new places, and enriching the lives of his adoring pets. David was wise beyond his years and a trusted confidant to many who loved him. When he walked into a room, he was met with excitement, and he provided immeasurable comfort to those around him. David will be greatly missed by his parents, Mark Wollschlager and Anne (Dan) Sullivan; siblings, Mary (Sean) Nolan, Laura (James) Litz, and Graham (Hannah Smith) Sullivan; grandmother, Joan Gregor; nieces, Mia McCarthy, Sydney and Aurelia Nolan; nephew, Isaiah Nolan; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. David is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Gregor and Fred Wollschlager; grandmother, Theo Wollschlager; aunt, Rose Gregor; and step-sister, Justine Lindgren. A private family service honoring David was held. Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
