David John Kohner, 71, beloved father, grandfather ("Pappy") and brother passed away on the morning of August 23, 2008 at his home in Fort Worth (Benbrook), Texas. Dave was born in Winona, Minnesota on August 2, 1937. He grew up in Rollingstone, MN and Chicago, IL with his parents (Edmund and Esther (Kulas) Kohner) and sisters. He went to the University of Illinois, graduating with his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1961. After graduating, he worked as an electrical engineer at various companies (Litton, Teledyne, and Hughes Aircraft) working on numerous aircraft and avionics programs while living in San Diego, CA and Tucson, AZ. He retired from Hughes Aircraft Company (now Raytheon) in 1992 after 20 years of service. After retiring, he toured the country, spent some time with his mom Esther in Chicago, "rested" in Washington and Colorado, returned to Tucson for a few years, and then moved to Fort Worth in 2003 to be with his children. He is survived by his son (Michael), daughter (Alicia), his grandchildren (Julia, Nicholas, Ethan), his sisters (Nancy Johnson, Sally Stephens, Diane Frazer), and the family cat (Pancho). Dave very much treasured his memories of Rollingstone and the time he spent in Minnesota with his grandfather Michael Kohner and his cousins, aunts, and uncles on both the Kohner and Kulas sides of the family. He will be buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Rollingstone, MN. For more information, please visit <
