David E. Lunde, 76 of Winona died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Lake Winona Manor after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.
Dave was born April 8, 1941 in Granite Falls, MN to Oswald and Hilda (Berends) Lunde. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On April 8, 1967 he married the love of his life, Sharon Kobus in Winona. Dave worked as a Union Iron Worker, Local 512 until his retirement. Following retirement, he worked part-time at Motor Parts & Equipment.
Dave was an incredibly loving husband and father; he took every opportunity to show his love for Sharon and Lisa. He also loved cars, especially his 1923 T-Bucket hot rod; preparing for and attending horse shows; listening to old rock and roll; reading mystery novels; Connie's Swedish Meatballs; was an excellent cook and grill master and loved all animals, especially their dogs.
Dave belonged to the American Legion and the Minnesota Street Rod Association. Along with Carl Parnow and Don Edelman, he founded the Hellraisers, a local car club.
Dave was a very kind and respectful person; he had the utmost respect for women and thought woman's rights were a very important issue. His favorite author, Patrick McManus brought out his infectious laugh.
