David Arlo Denzer, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23 at the Elysian Senior Homes of Lake City. David was born on January 18, 1946 in Detroit, MI, the son of Orville and Myrtle (Selke) Denzer; he was raised in Bethany with his siblings and graduated from Lewiston High School. David entered into the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. He held jobs at the Badger Foundry, Thompson's in Altura, Timm's auto Salvage, Crenlo Engineered Cabs and eventually his own body shop: Denzer Auto Repair and Body. He would eventually partner with Boss Hoss Cycles to become a certified motorcycle shop, too. He loved racing, working and building cars, motor cycles and going out on Saturday nights dancing.
In his early years, he became acquainted with JoAnne Brown and the two fell in love but became separated due to time and distance; many decades later, he and JoAnne would find each other once more and were united in marriage on June 18, 2018; they shared nearly 4 years together until JoAnne's passing in May of 2022.
Dave will be greatly missed by his children, Norbert (Pat) Denzer, Wendy (Jackie) Denzer, Edward (Susan) Denzer, Theona (Stephen) Muhs; grandchildren, Jeremy (Emily), Jerod (Jen), Shawn, Shane, Shanden, Shandi, Charles, David, Elizabeth, & Albert; great-grandchildren, Tapanga, Braxton, Tyler, Cameron, Brody, Noah, Beau, Hunter, and Grace; sister, Esther (Ken) Sparr; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Denzer; parents, Orville and Myrtle Denzer; sister, Sherry Schmitz.
A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 18 at the Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Celebration from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at the Norton Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Altura.
Dave's family encourages all in attendance to dress casual in remembrance of his laid back personality and free spirit.
