David Ashelin

Winona, MNDavid Ashelin, 66, died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital. David was born February 21, 1937 in Winona County to Julius and Margaret (Thesing) Ashelin. David grew up in the Winona area and attended Winona Public Schools. He served in the U. S. Army from 1959-1961. Returning from service David went to work for Badger Equipment where he was employed for over 40 years. David enjoyed going to concerts in the area, spending time outdoors and visiting family and friends. David is survived by his brothers and sisters, Bernadine (Raymond) Kammerer of Winona, Vincent (Lorraine) Ashelin of Winona, Rosemary (Sylvester) Erpelding of Winona, Thomas (Pauline) Ashelin of Tucson, AZ, Evelyn (James) Duellman of Winona and Romaine (Gloria) Ashelin of Winona, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Raphael, Victor, Theodore, George and Wayne.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 10:00am at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona with the Reverend Shawn Haremza officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary?s Cemetery in Winona. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Burke Winona Chapel on Wednesday from 6-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Pallbearers will be David?s nieces and nephews.
