Rollingstone, Danny E. "Dusty" Speltz, 59, of Rollingstone died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Lewiston Villa. Dusty was born November 10, 1953 in Winona to Cyrus and Dolores (Hengel) Speltz. He attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Winona Senior High School. Following high school Dusty attended Winona Vo-Tech for two years, studying tool and die. He worked as a machinist for DCM in Winona from 1979 until retiring due to ill health 2009. Dusty belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, where he volunteered. He had also belonged to the Rollingstone Jaycees, bowled, shot pool, helped coach youth softball and enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting when he was younger. His two main loves were the Green Bay Packers and shooting trap at the Winona Gun Club. Dusty was a wonderful brother. He will be missed by family and friends for his humor and wit. Survivors include a sister Christy (Greg) Wheeler of Rollingstone, a brother Jon (Gloria) Speltz of Spring Grove, 10 nieces and nephews and their families. He is also survived by his special kitty Cheesehead. His parents and a sister, Sue Schell preceded him in death. A Funeral Mass for Dusty will be 11AM Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Reverend William Kulas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM Thursday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, 3480 Service Drive, Goodview. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
