ST. CHARLESDaniel Charles Beirne, 55, of St. Charles passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Mayo Clinic - St. Mary's Campus.Dan was born June 8, 1959 to Willard and Lucille (Moldenhauer) Beirne in La Crosse, WI. He was raised in Galesville and graduated from Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School. After completing a two year degree at Western Wisconsin Technical College he was employed with Bench Mark Electronics in Winona. On September 11, 1993 he married Pam Shepperd. Together they settled In St. Charles and raised 2 children, Megan and Andy. In 2011, they started caring for Dan's great nephews, Bailey Suchla and Jordan Beirne. Over the years, Dan was an involved community member in St. Charles. He was a Scout Master for Troop 54, assisted as a basketball and baseball coach for Park & Rec while his son Andy was young, was president of Catholic United Financial at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic church, and was on the buildings and ground committee for the church. Dan absolutely loved attending any of his children's sporting events including baseball, basketball, and soccer. He also enjoyed curling in his younger years, was a big war-gamer, and took interest in all things technology. As a man with a big and kind heart full of faith, Dan will be sadly missed but forever remembered. Dan is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Megan and Andy; special great nephews, Bailey Suchla and Jordan Beirne all of St. Charles; siblings John (Peg) of Holmen, WI, Margaret Beirne of Rochester, MN, and Jim Beirne of Eau Claire, WI; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Lucille (Moldenhauer) Beirne; brother Allyn; uncles, Charlie, Donny, Bernie, and Ralph; Aunt, Eileen; and great nephew, Dylan.Funeral Mass for Dan will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Jeff Dobbs officiating. A visitation will be held 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the church. Dan will be laid to rest in Galesville, WI this coming spring.Memorials are preferred to the family or a charity of choice.
