Danny Grover McKinley (Dan) passed away on Monday November 19, 2018 at Gunderson Hospital after a courageous and hard fought battle of esophageal and bone cancer, he was surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt, fish, collect morels and agates. He spent most of his time outdoors gardening or on the Mississippi River with his girls. He enjoyed cooking and grilling and had a passion to read about history. Dan was a fanatic Viking fan and taught us to love our colors. Dan always had a positive outlook on life and was gifted in being able to see the good in people; he could always find a friend in anyone.
Dan was a long time resident of Rollingstone, MN. Born in 1953 in Vinton IA to Bernie & Dorthy McKinley. Dan was a graduate of Rosemount High School in 1972 and graduated Winona State University.
Dan was a family man and is loved by his wife Sharon, two daughters Michelle, Cassie and two granddogs Harris and best friend Mowgli.
Dan is survived by his mother Dorthy McKinley of Waterloo, IA, one brother Skip(Dema) McKinley and two sisters Kathy(Dave) Merry, Beth(Scott) Hottle of Waterlou, IA and one sister Becky(Phil) Smith of Hazel Green, WI, and large extended family. He was proceeded in death by his father Bernie McKinley of Waterloo, IA.

Please join us in a Celebration of Life for Dan on Friday November 30th 2018 at the Winona Athletic Club 4pm-8pm, please wear your team colors.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to family for a wildlife conservation donation.
